Br& Nizzle
This past Saturday, I packed up and left Thanksgiving break a day early and headed back up to Long Island to go see a show at the Nassau Coliseum. The type of music I listen to isn't of radio caliber - I guess you can say it's underground. This particular show included Kevin Devine, Manchester Orchestra, Thrice, Glassjaw, and, of course, Long Island's best, Brand New. This was their last show of the tour and a huge deal to be playing a venue the size of the Coliseum. It was incredible to see all those people come out to see a band that I could go see play a little coffee house in Jersey for 20 people; the place was packed. Being a huge fan of all of these bands, it made it that much better; this was hands down the best show I've ever been to.
When Brand New came on, the crowd went nuts. People were jumping the barricades just to get to the front. They played a bunch of new songs (which were amazing) and very little of their older albums. What made this show so good, besides the music, was the whole atmosphere. The screen in the background streamed killer images that blew my mind. A face, to a distorted face, to a skeleton, to a fox. Nuts.
They ended the show with a bang. They thanked Long Island for their constant support and jammed to the song that got them started (Seventy times Seven).
Here's a clip I found of this moment:
Post- clip, you might continue blogging. Sandwich the clip so that the youtube contributor doesn't steal your last word, so to speak. It's your blog show after all.
